A. Pauline "Polly" Cheaves
July 31, 1922 - December 14, 2023

Louisburg, NC--Annie Pauline (Polly) Cheaves, 101, of Louisburg went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Her life was a challenge as she suffered from "cerebral thrombosis" since birth. She was as determined as any person ever known. Her life experienced many difficulties, but her greatest joys was her family and church family. Although she did not marry or have any children of her own, she taught Sunday school for over 50 years and loved every child she ministered (including Jason Havens). She touched so many children during their preschool years.

Polly was born July 31, 1922, to the late Zuna Lee and Lettie Cheaves. She lived with her sister "Win-nie Spencer" for many years and lived at 46 Wrenn Way, and resided at Hillside Nursing Center, Wake Forest for the past 5 years. She was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Zuna Lee, Wallace Johnson and J.P. Cheaves: seven sisters, Olive Leigh Gupton, Winnie Spencer, Lena Baker, Jodie Edwards, Alethea Edwards, Kathleen Perry, and Mattie Sweet. She is survived by special caretakers, Evelyn Richards, Linda Kaye Hickox and Bobbie Wrenn, and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by a forever family, Carol and Don Hall, Ellen Jean and Elwood Parker, and John Lee. Their mother was Aunt Polly's high school teacher. Every year Mrs. Parker came and picked up Aunt Polly for a visit. Continued visits by her children faithfully over the years.

Flowers accepted or donations to Rock Spring Church Children's Ministry, 34 Rock Spring Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family would like to say thank you for all who have contributed to Polly's life. She truly loved you and treasured her friends, today she can run in heaven as she never could here on earth. Rejoice with her.

Family received friends and visitors on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 2-3 p.m. with Funeral Service followed at 3 p.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Louisburg. Burial immediately followed at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services in Louis-burg. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com
