February 12, 1951 - December 24, 2023

LOUISBURG, NC--Robert "Larry" Southerland, Sr., 72, of Louisburg passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was born on February 12, 1951 in Franklin County, NC to the late James Sabat Southerland and Ethel Pendergrass Southerland.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Larry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pam Johnston Southerland; his children, Robert L. Southerland, Jr. (Jocelyn), Angie Cabe (Kenny), and Samuel Southerland (Tina); six grandchildren, Haileigh Southerland, Jax Cabe, Luke Southerland, Jack Southerland, Ryan Southerland, and Mark Southerland; one sister, Carol Southerland, three brothers, Raeford Southerland, Henry Southerland, and Kert Southerland; many very loved nieces and nephews, church family, and friends. Larry loved his family with all his heart.

Larry was born and raised in Franklin County and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Louisburg. He loved the Lord and his church family immensely.

He was the owner of Franklin Fencing Company for many years and was a "jack-of-all-trades." He never met a stranger, and will be remembered as a jokester, as he enjoyed picking at people and making them laugh. Larry also loved his 'Friday Lunch Crew' and could be found at the 'Cook Shack' on Fridays with his family and friends for a good meal, followed by a good cigar on the front porch. Larry will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services and will be officiated by Pastor Mark Tondee. Burial will follow at 484 Stone-Southerland Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to be made in Larry's memory to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church Missions' Fund, 394 Ferrels Bridge Rd, Louisburg, NC 27549.
