Doris Dell Murphy Aycock
October 26, 1923 - January 19, 2024

Louisburg, NC--Doris Dell Murphy Aycock, 100, of Louisburg went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1923, to the late R. Hoke and Annie Cooke Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Daniel Aycock and sons, Donnie Ray Aycock and Michael Jay Aycock.

Doris is survived by her daughters-in-law, Linda Aycock and Eva Aycock; grandchildren, Ryan Aycock (Becky), Jason Aycock (Amanda), Sara Warren (Josh), Daniel Aycock, and Anthony Aycock (Teri); seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was a devoted housewife and mother, a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and a devout Christian. Doris loved quilting, sewing, and gardening, Doris always had a big garden. She also loved to cook and was famous for her chocolate cakes and her carrot cakes. Doris was the last living of the Murphy siblings.

The family received friends at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 4160 NC 561 Hwy, Louisburg, NC 27549 where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Kaden Williamson officiating. Burial followed at the Aycock Family Cemetery on Raymond Tharrington Road.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Kid's Fund of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 4160 NC 561 Hwy., Louisburg, NC 27549. Arrangements are entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, www.lancasterfcs.com.
