Nancy Griffin Murphy
July 17, 1947 - February 6, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC--We are sad to announce the passing of Nancy Griffin Murphy of Louisburg, NC.

Nancy was born on July 17, 1947 and passed away on February 6, 2024 at the age of 76. She was a graduate of Gold Sand High School and Hardbargers University. She worked at NC State University and was a financial analyst at Hardees Food Systems where she retired at the age of 55.

Nancy was an independent soul who enjoyed 90 degree temperatures, traveling, shopping, decorating, dancing, reading, riding bicycles, walking, hamburgers, smoking, diet mountain dews, and little children.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Roger Ottis Griffin; her mother, Beatrice Elizabeth Jenkins Griffin; her sister, Polly Elizabeth Griffin; her brother, Albert Roger Griffin; and her husband, Larry Wayne Murphy.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Brenda Griffin Lloyd; her daughter, Veegie Diane Murphy; her son, Cameron Louis Murphy and his wife, Amanda Smith Murphy; her one and only beloved granddaughter, Caleigh Ann Murphy; and her sister-in-law, Gladys Griffin; as well as nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Griffin Family Cemetery with the Reverend Doug Moore officiating.
