Buddy Eugene Street

LOUISBURG, NC -- Buddy Eugene Street, 84, of Louisburg, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 10, 1939, in Mitchell County, NC to the late Fred and Sally Sparks Street.

In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by three of his siblings, Doris, Opal, and James Street.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Shelby Bennett Street; two children, Jana Johnson, and Jonathan Street (Edward Thirkell); three grandchildren, Wesley Street Johnson (Julie), Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, and Hannah Nicole Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Elsie Violet Johnson, Scarlett Hope Johnson, and Madeline May Johnson, two bonus grandchildren, Landon and Saylor Mize; and five brothers, Fred Street Jr., Ronnie Street, Wayne Street, Floyd Street and Kenneth Street.

Eugene was a member of Louisburg United Methodist Church and the Louisburg Lions Club. He was married to the love of his life, Mrs. Shelby for sixty-three years. Eugene enjoyed collecting Blue Ridge Pottery and owned thousands of pieces. He enjoyed bass fishing in the local ponds and had a green thumb for gardening. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love and care that was given to Eugene by his caretakers, Maxine Coppedge, Gina Privette, Mamie Smith, Pandora Jones, Betty Jones, and Susan Lyons.

The family received friends and visitors on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. at Louisburg United Methodist Church, 402 N Main St, in Louisburg, officiated by Rev. Tuck Taylor. Interment followed at Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 NC 561, Louisburg, NC.

Memorial contributions can be made to Louisburg United Methodist Church or Buladean Presbyterian Church, Blevins Branch Rd, Bakersville, NC.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services of Louisburg.
