Theresa Harper Newton

EPSOM, NC-- Ms. Theresa Harper Newton, 86, of Epsom, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 3, 1937, to the late James H. and Alma Baugh Harper in Warren County, NC.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Allen Newton and one brother, James N. Harper Jr.

She is survived by her three sons, Sidney Earl Smith Jr., Edward Allen Newton, and Anthony "Tony" Ray Newton (Jennifer Ellis); grandchildren, Robert Newton, Taylor Sullivan, and Adriane Sullivan; one brother, William Harper; one brother-in-law, Donnie Newton; one sister-in-law, Betty Newton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Theresa worked for many years in the shirt factory in Warrenton. She later went on to be a nursing assistant and caretaker. Theresa was a simple lady, not very interested in the material things in life. She regularly attended Liberty Christian Church in Henderson. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. When her boys were young, she would take them on fishing trips to the local ponds. Theresa was a great cook and loved the outdoors.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Gentiva Hospice.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Liberty Christian Church, 7818 NC-39, Henderson, NC 27537. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following visitation at the church at 12 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services of Louisburg.
