Jean Shearin Chappell

FRANKLINTON, NC--Jean Shearin Chappell, 88, of Franklinton went to her heavenly home on September 9, 2024. She was a native of Youngsville, a 1954 graduate of Youngsville High School, and the daughter of the late Henry Bobbitt Shearin and Elizabeth Dorsey Shearin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Henry Shearin.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years H.W. Chappell, Jr., her sons Mike (Linda) of Wake Forest and Terry (Cathy) of Raleigh, her granddaughters Brittany Chappell Farner of Winston Salem, and Andrea Chappell Dosch of Huntersville. One great grandson, Owen Farner of Winston Salem.

Her work history included office work at Burlington Industries for over 20 years, and her last position for the N.C. Dept. of Transportation as an Accounting Specialist for 12 years. She was a talented seamstress and artist. She loved traveling, cruises, the beach and the mountains. She was an excellent cook, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2024 prior to the funeral at 2 p.m. at Franklinton Baptist Church, 102 W. Mason St. Franklinton, NC 27525. The service will be conducted by Rev. Richard Childers and Rev. David Averette. Entombment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Franklinton Baptist Church.
