Denise Marie Barsom
September 5, 1973 ~ October 7, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC--Denise Marie King Barsom, 51, of Louisburg, NC, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2024, at her home. Denise was born on September 5, 1973 in Raleigh, NC, to the late Burnice Edward King and Gloria Jean Ward King.

Denise attended Bunn High School in Bunn, NC. Denise worked as a veterinary assistant at Heartwood Animal Hospital for many years. Denise had a special place in her heart for animals of all kinds. She loved many rescued pets throughout her life and found joy in caring for animals. Denise was always ready to provide her knowledge as a veterinary technician to help her close family and friends with their animals. Denise is survived by her beloved dog Raven, and cats Banta and Augustus, which are now in the family's care. Denise was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and "Gana".

Remaining to cherish Denise's memory are husband, Mourad Barsom; daughter, Samantha Stephens (Harley); grandchild, Riley Stephens; sister, Bobbie Reese (Mike); nephews: David Reese (Courtney) and Stephen Reese (Rachel); aunts and uncle Judy and Gordy Watkins and Ginny Byrd.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., November 2, 2024, at Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church.

Memorial donations in Denise's memory may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
