ANETHIA DELPHINE PHELPS COLLINS
February 29, 1932 - June 15, 2025

FRANKLINTON, NC -- Anethia Delphine Phelps Collins, 93, of Franklinton, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Anethia, a leap-year baby, was born on February 29, 1932, in Franklin County to the late Garland and Louise Debnam Phelps.

Anethia loved her Lord and her church, where she was active until her health kept her from attending regularly. As Anethia loved to cook, she was a member of the Kitchen Committee and used her giftedness to serve others. She was a dedicated member of the Faithful Workers Sunday Class. Anethia also served as a member of the Homebound Committee and visited the sick and elderly in rest homes. She was so gracious and generous in the sharing of her prized homemade biscuits, coconut pies, and her "almost famous chocolate cakes." She was so loved by any and all who knew her, and she loved everyone equally.

Anethia was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ervin Collins; her son-in-law, Byron House; her daughter-in-law, Judi Collins; her sisters, Glenn Gene Faulkner and Mary Lou Gentis. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Glenn Collins and Craig Collins and his wife Sylvia, her daughter, Becky House; and three grandchildren, Jon Bragg, Chase Collins and Ashley Collins.

The family received friends on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 2-3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Franklinton Baptist Church, and a funeral service followed at 3 p.m. Services were officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Childress and Rev. David Averette. She was laid to rest alongside her husband Ervin at Fairview Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Franklinton Baptist Church in her memory.
