Donald "Donnie" Wheeler Dillard

ZEBULON, NC -- Donald "Donnie" Wheeler Dillard, age 78, was born on February 26, 1947 in Warrenton, North Carolina and passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on August 19, 2025 in Zebulon, North Carolina.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Estes Dillard Sr. and Lucy Wheeler Smith.

He is survived by his daughters; Melissa Lynn Puett (Danny), Monica Elaine Dillard and Bethany Marie Dillard; grandchildren, William Andrew Spencer II, Jamie Lynn Spencer, Jordan Bailey Puett, Jaden Sophina Puett, Scarlett Taylor Zelinack, great-grandchildren, Linkin and Fenix Spencer, Josie Anderson, brother, Thomas "Ted" Estes Dillard Jr. (Sally), companion, Sharon E. Johnson and most beloved dog, Jackson.

Donald was a businessman, spent many years working in real estate rehabilitation, entrepreneur, enjoyed beach music and classic cars. Spending time at the beach house in North Myrtle Beach with his family were times he cherished the most. His family was his joy and felt blessed to spend time with all of them. He loved the Lord and committed to walking in love and faith daily. Donald will be remembered and dearly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Family will receive for fellowship and visitation on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1-2 p.m. in the old sanctuary of Woodland Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The funeral service will immediately follow in the church cemetery at 2 p.m.
