WILLIAM M. GINN, JR.
June 28, 1934 - October 11, 2025

RALEIGH, NC -- William M. "Bill" Ginn, 91, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. A devoted husband, father, physician, and friend, Bill will be remembered for his compassion, dedication, and hearty laughter.

Born on June 28, 1934, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Bill was the beloved son of William Ginn and Annie Mildred Kelly Ginn. He grew up alongside his brother, Fred Ginn.

While working as a lifeguard along the North Carolina coast at Fort Macon, Bill met the love of his life, Peggy Williams. Their partnership became the foundation of a devoted marriage that lasted 60 years.

After earning a medical degree, Bill began his service in 1962 as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service. In 1965, he settled in Raleigh and began a 34-year career as a cardiologist and internist. Bill cared deeply for his patients.

Beyond his professional life, Bill appreciated life's simple pleasures. He found peace and joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours gardening and raising livestock on his farm in Louisburg, NC.

He also enjoyed searching for Native American artifacts on local farmland.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Williams Ginn; his parents, William and Annie Mildred Kelly Ginn; and his brother, Dr. Fred Ginn.

He is survived by his children, Billy (Johnette) Ginn of Louisburg and Carol (Larry) Nobles of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Savannah Nobles (David Parbus) of Asheville and Nick Nobles of Raleigh; his sister-in-law, Ann (Furman) Humphrey of Pinehurst; and his nephew, Casey (Ashley) Humphrey, also of Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held at Louisburg Baptist Church on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 4515 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
