Bobby Ray Tharrington
February 28, 1951 - October 31, 2025
Bobby Ray Tharrington

Louisburg, NC -- Bobby Ray Tharrington, 74, of Louisburg, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 31st, 2025

He was born on February 28th, 1951, to the late Eugene and Irene Tharrington. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Tharrington Gupton, and siblings Hilda Tharrington, Mary Gupton, and Dale Tharrington.

Anyone who knew Bobby-Ray knew that his daughters were the center of his world. He also adored his grandchildren and great-grandchild with all his heart.

He spent nearly every afternoon playing pool with his brothers and friends. When the weather was warm, he spent hours tending to the yard. No one has ever had more of a green thumb than him. He loved music, specifically Jim Reeves and would tell you all about how music today just doesn't compare.

He delivered the newspaper for The Franklin Times for 22 years, as well as the News and Observer. He also worked as a carpenter in his younger years. Bobby-Ray was one of the kindest souls that has ever walked this Earth. He will be sorely missed.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Mandy Evans (Chad); grandchildren, Ashley Joyner, Cody Evans (Katie), and Dawson Evans; great-grandson Aiden Joyner; brothers - Gene Tharrington and David "Crockett" Tharrington (Kay); sisters, Myrtle Allen (Julian), Pam Eatmon (Dale); and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held at Lancaster's Memorial Park on November 4th, 2025, at 11 a.m.
