"BILL" WILLIAM J. QUALK, JR.
April 2, 1948 - February 3, 2026

LOUISBURG, NC -- William "Bill" Jacob Qualk, Jr., 77, of Louisburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday night, February 3, 2026.

Bill was the son of the late William "Bill" J. Qualk, Sr. and Marian Roknick Massey. He was preceded in death by his brother, David M. Qualk.

Bill graduated from Northeast High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1966 and then went on to the University of Miami and graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering. He could build anything. At the age of fifteen Bill built his first house for his parents. He built his own houseboat at the age of twenty. After college Bill worked for an Architectural Firm in Ft. Lauderdale for a brief period and then went on to be a General Contractor building commercial buildings and residential homes in Florida. In 1988 Bill, Joyce and Melissa moved to Louisburg and he began to build houses in North Carolina. He and Joyce loved entertaining friends at their home. He loved to play the piano, listen to music, travel, go on cruises, and go boating. When he retired, he enjoyed going to lunch with Joyce and going to some of his hangouts.

Bill dedicated himself the last ten years to taking care of Joyce. His greatest love in life was Joyce, Melissa but especially his grandson, Connor.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 14th in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce O. Qualk; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Q. and Jeremy Hocutt; grandson, Connor Hocutt; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Brooke Qualk; sisters and brother-in-law, Dianna and Paul Jones; Donna Qualk and Delores Qualk; sisters in-law, Christine Glover; Carolyn Leonard; brother-in-law, Tony Parrish and his wife, Anna Parrish; many nieces and nephews

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Cr. Raleigh, NC 27607.
