Franklinton, NC -- Gladys Alford Hight, 97, of Franklinton, died February 12, 2026.

Gladys was born on April 19, 1928 to the late Rufus Wesley and Betty Mitchell Alford. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Ruffin Hight Sr.; a son, Gary L. Hight; and her brothers, Wesley Alford and F.G. Alford.

Gladys is survived by her sons, Raymond Hight Jr (Kathy) and Randy A. Hight (Nell); two grandchildren; and her sister, Rachel Bradley.

A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton NC , with Reverend David Averette officiating.
