RANKLINTON, NC -- Hugh "Brian" Ray Jr., 43, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 15, 2026. Brian was born on June 14, 1983 to Hugh Brian Ray Sr. and Cathy Foster Ray.

In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his loving wife, Laura Ray; two nephews; his paternal grandmother, Pauline Burnette; aunts and uncles; his mother-in-law, Amy Upchurch; brother-in-law, Caleb Upchurch; and many cousins and loved ones.

Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Ray; maternal grandparents, Claude and Frances Foster; and his paternal grandfather, Milton Thurman Ray.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 29, in the Louisburg Chapel of Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg NC. In honor of Brian, we ask that you dress casually. The family will receive friends following the service.
