PAULINE A. WEST
HENDERSON - Pauline Abbott West died Saturday, March 8, 2008. A celebration of her life was conducted Tuesday, March 11, at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Burgess and the Rev. Marshall Neathery. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Vance County, the daughter of the late Lucy W. Abbott and E. R. Abbott, and was the widow of Henry Lee West. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Henry Lee West Plumbing, which she and her husband owned.

Surviving daughters, Brenda W. Hoyle and Vickie W. Watkins, both of Henderson; brothers, Hubert Abbott of Raleigh, Morris Abbott, Thurston Abbott and Gilbert Abbott, all of Henderson; sisters, Dorothy A. Hutto of Gaston, S. C., Eleanor A. Short of Norlina, Frances A. Abbott and Patricia A. Ellington, both of Henderson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were brothers, Bill Abbott, Jessie Abbott, Bryant Abbott, Wilton Abbott; sisters, Golden A. Patterson, Maude A. Edwards, Catherine A. Abbott and Dora A. Felts; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 1699 Weldons Mill Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or Community Home Care and Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
