The filing deadline is Friday at noon.

Robin Pearce House, 37, was arrested March 28 and charged with four counts of trafficking opiates, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a controlled substance.
According to Granville County Deputy Chad Coffey, House was receiving oxycodone medication prescribed for her husband.

Tuesday’s general election will give residents in every corner of the county a chance to cast a ballot for a municipal race, even venturing into Wake Forest.

And, for the first time, more than 300 residents living in a Franklin County subdivision annexed by Wake County will cast their ballots in Franklin County.

EPSOM -- Franklin County officials cut the ribbon on Epsom Park, paying homage to an old community school and creating a new recreational gateway into northern Franklin County.In 2006, the county tore down the old Epsom School and began making plans to transform the nearly 10-acre property into a park.It took nearly two decades, but Franklin County officially opened the park to the community with a ceremony on Nov. 21.

A Bunn High School student, Jacob Wilson, has won the award for this T-shirt design for the 38th International Whistlers Convention, which is being sponsored by the Franklin County Historical Society.
Wilson, better known as Jake, is 18 and the son of Jim and Faye Wilson.
He and other students submitted designs from the Sports and Entertainment Marketing class taught by Randy Whitley.

FRANKLINTON -- Franklinton used a recent gathering of interested parties along a developing rail corridor to advocate for a stop in town.This summer, state officials and federal transportation staff broke ground on a rail line, connecting Richmond Va., to Raleigh -- and further south into Florida.The 162-mile passenger route has been in development for about 20 years and, as it stands, stops are planned for Norlina, Henderson and Wake Forest before getting to Raleigh.

Deputies and State Bureau of Investigation agents seized nearly 30 grams of heroin and arrested two people, including an 83-year-old woman. According to the report by Det. Justin Hastings, Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and agents with the SBI executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Windsong Lane near Youngsville the evening of Jan. 9.
