RONALD R. MARKS
July 23, 1947 - March 21, 2020

CASTALIA - Ronald Ray Marks, 72, of Castalia, died Saturday evening at the Durham VA Hospital surrounded by his family.

Ronald was a son of the late Prescott and Margaret Collins Marks. He was an Army veteran and a member of Red Bud Baptist Church. Ronald was a family man and his grandchildren were the love and joy of his life. He liked to hunt and fish and working at Wood's Produce.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Red Bud Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wanda Leonard Marks; daughters and son-in-law, Denise and Richard Melvin of Elm City; Rita M. Bailey; son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Connie Marks, all of Castalia; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Donnie Finch of Louisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Geraldine Marks of Reidsville; Bobby and Cynthia Marks; sister-in-law, Annette Leonard, all of Castalia; grandchildren, Tyler, Celina, Logan, Caitlyn, Austin, Eli and Anna; great-grandchildren, Lily and Landon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, 1284 NC 58 Hwy., Castalia, NC 27816.

We knew Ron from the farmers market. He was a cheerful kind presence and a good friend to the vendors and customers. All of us will miss him profoundly and carry his memory fondly.
