PERRY L. THARRINGTON
LOUISBURG - Perry Lee Tharrington, 78, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his home. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in the Bobbitt family cemetery in Alert, with Pastor Steve Burnette officiating.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Buddy Tharrington and Lizzie Smith Tharrington. He was owner and operator of Tharrington’s Grocery and was the first chief of the Gold Sand Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving: wife, Pattie Murray Tharrington of the home; sons, Dale Tharrington, Dean Tharrington and Terry Tharrington, all of Louisburg; sisters, Patricia T. Bobbitt of Louisburg and Rachel Tharrington of Raleigh; brothers, Earl Tharrington of Louisburg and Wade Tharrington of Butner; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home at 180 Alert Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Cross Cowboy Baptist Church, 938 Grey’s Mill Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
