OBITUARIES

CURTIS W. ALLEY

LOUISBURG--Curtis Wayne Alley, 71, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his daughter's home surrounded by family. Born on October 5, 1947 to the late William Greene Alley and Violet Smith Dorsey, Curtis enjoyed gardening, hunting and listening to music. He also owned a race car. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Robin Alley, and his sister, Charlotte Watkins.

MARGARET H. BOYETTE

LOUISBURG--Margaret Hunt Boyette, age 73, of Louisburg passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2018 after a period of declining health. Born on October 14, 1945 to the late Dave and Maggie Moore Hunt, she was the youngest of nine siblings and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Boyette; sisters, Sarah Arnold and Mildred Ball; brothers, Jack Hunt, J.T. Hunt, Roy "Dude" Hunt, and Dave Hunt.

MORRIS G. MERRITT JR.

UNION, N. J.--Morris Glenn Merritt Jr., formerly of Louisburg, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at his home in Union, N.J., after an extended illness. A memorial service was held in Union, N. J., on Dec. 14.
