GOP plans
June meeting
The Franklin County Republican Party will hold its monthly covered dish dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. for the dinner and meeting following at 7 p.m., Thursday June 12, at the Youngsville Community Building, 115 East Main Street.
All Republicans are invited. Hot dogs and drinks will be served, covered dishes would be appreciated.

Fish fry fund-raiser planned
The Concord Community Center, Inc. will hold its annual Fish Fry fund raiser on Saturday, June 7 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until all plates are sold. The cost is $12. The address is 645 Walter Grissom Road, Kittrell. You can eat in or take out.
All funds support the preservation and restoration of the Concord Rosenwald School.

LHS Class of 1975 50th reunion
The Louisburg High School Class of 1975 is organizing its 50th Class Reunion for Saturday, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Mayo Event Center, 303 Nash Street, Louisburg.

4-H summer sessions planned
4-H and Franklin County Cooperative Extension are planning Sizzling Summer Sessions 2025 where there will be face-to-face opportunities for youth ages 5-18 to create summer memories through fun and hands-on activities. Camp times vary.

Farmers market open Fridays
The Franklin County Farmers Market in Louisburg's Shannon Village Shopping Center is open Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Strawberries, pointed head cabbage, onions, squash, tomatoes, turnip salad, local honey, grass-fed beef, pork, chicken and farm-fresh eggs are available and fresh baked goods are in good supply. Handmade wooden, resin, silver, quilted crafts and soaps will be for sale.

Alert Fourth of July parade slated
The 2025 Alert Fourth of July Parade will be held on Friday, July 4, beginning at 11 a.m. Line up begins at 10:15 a.m.
"This is a free event so come join us in our community's tradition of celebrating our small town patriotic spirit," said parade organizer Melanie Bobbitt.
There will be a best patriotic decorated entry contest. The Alert Pentecostal Holiness Church will have its annual hotdog sale along with lots of other treats.
