Kathryn Joyner West

LOUISBURG, NC -- Kathryn Joyner West, 94, of Louisburg, died August 6, 2025 at Brekenridge in Rocky Mount, NC. She was born March 10, 1931, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bennett Joyner and was preceded in death by her husband, George M. West, her son, George M. "Buddy" West, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Bill Fleming and her brother, Mack Joyner.

Mrs. West is survived by her daughters, Kim Davis and husband Kenny, Kathy Jones and husband Henry; grandchildren, Kevin (Victoria) Davis, Kyle (Taraleigh) Davis, Taylor (Kristin Leigh) Jones, Matthew (Jess Rosen) Jones, Molly J. (Bryan) Doppel; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ethan (Lydia), Mason (Breanna), Caden, Jacob (Joia), Brianna, Joseph, Selah, Owen, Bennett, Parker and Asa; great-great-grandchild, Ezra; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Shirley Joyner; sister-in-law, Edna Joyner; many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn attended Meredith College and Louisburg College, after which she worked with the NC Department of Revenue and later worked with her husband as secretary in his appraisal business. The two of them traveled and served extensively in the Order of the Eastern Star. Kathryn's primary joy was that of being a homemaker. She is affectionately known as KK to her grands. The family always enjoyed gathering for her scrumptious meals and times of communion in the Joyner/West tradition around the family table. Kathryn also enjoyed Church, book club, and bridge club friends.

Memorials may be made to the Clint Kennedy Fund at Louisburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549 or the Kenny Davis Ministries, 6214 Moore Road, Nashville, NC 27856.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16 at Louisburg Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will follow at Louisburg Baptist Church in the Aubrey S. Tomlinson Meeting Room.

A private committal service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
