A. STEPHEN CHERRY
ROCKY MOUNT - A. Stephen “Steve” Cherry, 64, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at home. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Saturday, May 16) at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church St., Rocky Mount. Visitation will follow the service at the church and other times at the home.

He was born in Rocky Mount, son of the late Amos T. Cherry and Esther Proctor Cherry of Wilson. He was a graduate of NC Wesleyan College and employed with Lewis Advertising, Inc. as VP of Outdoor Advertising.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ruby S. Cherry; daughter, Jennifer C. Johnson (Steve) of Youngsville; son, Michael S. Cherry (Martha) of Red Oak; brother, Gene Cherry of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to FUMC: Columbarium Fund, 100 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to Hospice of Nash General, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
