J. MELTON WHITE, SR.
April 20, 1925 - October 11, 2014

BUNN - James Melton White, Sr., 89, of Bunn, died Saturday afternoon. Melton was a son of the late James "Mr. Jimmy" and Victoria G. White. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" Sykes and Madeline Moody. He was a lifelong member of Bunn Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a retired tobacco farmer and was known for his hand graded sweet potatoes. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Bunn Baptist Church with the Reverend Tom Eldridge officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Melton is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Naomi G. White; daughters and sons-in-law, Nora Carole and Dennis Flannagan of Louisburg; Jane and Randy Fitzpatrick; sons and daughters-in-law, James Melton White Jr. "Buster" and Norma White; Sammie and Vernell White; brother and sister-in-law, Jasper and Louise White, all of Bunn; grandchildren, Matthew and Luke White; Taylor and Ethan Fitzpatrick; Katherine Gillette and husband, Cameron.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bunn Baptist Church, New Vision Fund, P.O. Box 114, Bunn, NC 27508.
