KEN EDWARDS

FRANKLINTON-William Kenneth "Ken" Edwards, 80, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Durham VA Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St., Franklinton, on Thursday, July 7, from 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery.

He was born in Johnston County to the late Della Puckett and William Andrew Edwards. Ken was a retired truck driver and worked for the Town of Franklinton for many years. He served his country in the Army. Mr. Edwards was an active member in American Legion Post #52 and Franklinton Masonic Lodge #123.

Surviving: his wife, Jeanette Young Edwards of Franklinton; daughters, Donna Barbee (Lee), Shelia Rary (Jim), and Robin Driver (Daryl); son, John Davis (Beverly), all of Clayton; sister, Myrtle E. Wallace (Dallas); seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Flowers are acceptable or contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Tonya Clayton, 2857 White Level Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
