RICHARD "BUD" JONES

LOUISBURG--Richard "Bud" Jones, 67, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 27, 1950 to the late Weldon Ezra and Elsie Mae Burnette Jones. Bud was a man who loved God first, life, family, his job and farming. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Carson Jones, Jr.; brothers, Reginald "Dick" Jones and Charles Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Jones; his daughter, Becky Jones; son, Keith Jones (Ashley); Grandchildren, Larry Pridgen, Eli Jones, and Bristol Jones; sisters, Margaret Nelms (Henry), Linda Murphy (Jerry) and Frances Jones; brothers, Macon Jones (Evelyn), Weldon "Junior" Jones (Phyllis), Rufus "Root" Jones, Pete Jones (Eva Aycock), Thomas "Tom Cat" Jones, and Scott Jones (Cindy); and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service was held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Wood Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Ellis officiating. The family received friends after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to 3HC Home Health and Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the 3HC Hospice staff: Ashley Harper, Barbie Keen, Jolene Morten, Deborah Parnell and any other staff involved in Bud's care. Also a special thanks to Margaret Nelms, Sonya Shearin and "Tom Cat" Jones for your caregiver support.
