SHIRLEY MAY SOUTHALL

LOUISBURG--Shirley May Southall, 77, of Louisburg passed with peace and grace on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Rex Hospital. She was born on June 7, 1940 to the late Willie E. and Eleanor Shearin May. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Southall; a grandson, Kyle Lewis; and all of her siblings.

Shirley was a devoted wife to the love of her life for 57 years, C. Wilbur Southall, whom she married in 1960 at Hill King UMC. Together they raised four daughters. Shirley was proud to be a grandma to seven grandchildren. She lit up a room with her smile, she loved music and playing the piano. One of her joys was cooking for her family every Sunday.

The family will receive friends at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church, with Reverends Melton Tyson and Jason Havens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Wilbur Southall; her daughters, Sherry Lewis (Brent), Kathy Southall (Fred Vangorder), and Jennifer Parrish (Lewis); and grandchildren, Jonathan Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Megan Lewis, Chandler Parrish, Leah Tharrington, and Chase Parrish.

Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the family. Condolences may be made at www.lancasterfcs.com.
