Franklin County visitors and residents will have a myriad opportunities to celebrate this festive season.
The Alert Christmas Parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, with line-up starting at 1 p.m.

First, the town is hosting its Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree at Town Hall on Main Street. The event is slated for this Friday, Nov. 30, from 6-7 p.m., and will feature fellowship, free food, cookies, coffee, sodas and Christmas music.
People who bring camera devices can also take pictures with Santa.

The town of Franklinton is set to host its annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
It serves as the only night-time parade in Franklin County.
This year's event will also feature a laser light show.

The town of Louisburg hosted its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Franklin County Courthouse steps on Nov. 27.
The Louisburg Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. along Main Street.
The town of Youngsville will be host to a day-long list of Christmas activities.
The town will host its annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. through downtown along Main Street.
The parade will be followed by an opportunity to take pictures with Santa Claus at 11 a.m. at the Youngsville Library at 218 U.S. 1-A.
The town's annual Tree Lighting festivities will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Youngsville Animal Hospital, located at 141 E. Main Street.
The Christmas Movie night at Luddy Park has been cancelled.
