RICHARD KEITH PATTON

HAYESVILLE--Richard Keith Patton, 58, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Habersham County, Georgia, but was raised in Clay County from the age of two. He was a 1979 graduate of Hayesville High School and played in the band in both high school and college.

He graduated from Western Carolina University, receiving his master's degree in public health and administration.

Keith worked in Franklin County in the 1990's as the health director. He attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Louisburg. He enjoyed restoring furniture and photography.

He is the son of Jane Dailey Patton of Hayesville and the late Richard J. Patton, who died February 6, 2018.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Kathey Miller-Patton; a son, Richard L. Patton of Oxford, North Carolina.

Memorial services were held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Trinity UMC, Louisburg, with the Rev. Chris Fair officiating. The interment was in Union Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends after the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Keith Patton to the Paws for People, 1121C - 324 Military Cutoff Road, Wilmington, NC 28405. Or Trinity UMC, 4262 Hwy 401 N, Louisburg, NC 27549.
