RONALD WAYNE SCOGGIN, SR.

MORGANTON--Ronald Wayne Scoggin, Sr. went to be with his Creator and to reunite with his mother (Zeruah), father (Gordon) and his seven siblings on Saturday, October 5, 2019. He was born on March 7, 1936 in Union Mills, NC. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca G. Scoggin of Morganton, NC; children, Rebecca "Terrie" Clark (Steven) of West Jefferson, NC and Ronald W. Scoggin, Jr. of Hickory, NC; two grandchildren, Samuel Clark (Kate) of Bentonville, AR and Houston Clark (Talara) of West Jefferson, NC; great-grandchild, Lakelyn Perry Clark of West Jefferson.

Ronald was a medic in the United States Army and retired from Drexel Heritage in 2001. He was also an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff for Burke County from 1976-1995.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, Friday, October 11, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Ronald W. Scoggin, Jr. officiating. A graveside service for family and close friends will be on October 12, 2019 at Round Hill Baptist Church in Union Mills, NC. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care or to Grace Heights Nursing Home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
