ZEBULON--Virginia Long Johnson, 84, of the Pearces Community in Franklin County, died Thursday morning, Aug. 6, 2020 at her home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at Pearce Baptist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Cottrell officiating.

She was born on June 9, 1936 to the late Odis S. and Dora W. Long of Wake County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Moses "Pete" Johnson; brother, Owen L. Long; and sisters, Rebecca Alford, Louise Davis, Doris Johnson and Clara Long.

She was a member of Pearce Baptist Church. She was a teacher in the Franklin County School System for 26 years, retiring from Bunn High School in 1996,
Surviving: her son, William "Bill" Johnson; two grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, consider a contribution to Pearce Baptist Church, 4688 Pearces Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.
