G. DOUGLAS DICKERSON
May 22, 1942 - April 5, 2021

Glynn Douglas Dickerson, 78, of Louisburg, died Monday evening at his home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Morris Dickerson and his brother, Larry Dickerson.

Doug was a native of Franklin County, and the son of the late Ben and Myrtle S. Dickerson. He enjoyed spending time with family, sunsets at Emerald Isle and quiet evenings on the porch.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bunn Cemetery. The family received friends at the home on Wednesday from 10 a.m - 7 p.m., and immediately following the services.

Doug is survived by his wife, Bonnie S. Dickerson; daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Randy Turner of Mooresville; Marci and Tad Merritt of Roanoke Rapids; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rosanne Dickerson of Bunn; step-daughter, Nicki Perry and her husband, Frankie of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, James and Joyce Dickerson of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Ben Dickerson (Margaret), Brandon Turner, Addie Wemyss (Jacob), Haley Upchurch (Cameron), Carrie Turner, Thomas Merritt and Douglas Merritt; great-grandchildren, Morris and Maddie Dickerson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Franklin County Department of Social Services, Christmas Fund, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, NC 27549 or to Louisburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.
