October 28, 1950 - February 2, 2022

LOUISBURG, NC -- John Douglas Murray, 71 of Louisburg, died peacefully at his home on February 2, 2022.

Doug was born in Wake County, on October 28, 1950, he was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Murray and his wife of 41 years, Gail W. Murray.

Doug was an avid outdoors man. He retired from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals after 43 years of service.

Doug is survived by his mother, Dora B Pryor and his three children, Angie Berrier and husband, Wes of Archdale; Ryan Murray; Austin Murray and wife, Christy all of Louisburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jake Berrier and wife Lindsay; Ashby Murray and Addison Murray; loving faithful canine companion, Brandi.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 5, at Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery and the family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doug's name can be made to the ALS Association North Carolina Chapter, 4 N. Blount St., Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27601.
