Hoyt Lee Edwards- January 27, 1942 - July 27, 2022

FRANKLINTON, NC--Hoyt Lee Edwards, 80, of Franklinton, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

A native of Franklin County, he was the son of the late Talmadge Hight Edwards and Annie Laurie Rowland. Hoyt was a rural mail carrier with over 40 years of dedicated service. He served on the Franklinton City School Board and at one time painted the Old Franklin County Courthouse. He was an avid sports fan and played on the first football team at Franklinton High School.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Bonnie Edwards on December 12, 2021. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Jon and Johannah Edwards of Franklinton, Beth and Ryan Raynor of Louisburg; brothers, Talmadge Edwards and wife, Betsy of Louisburg, Bernie Edwards and wife, Sondra of Boone, Lewis Edwards and wife, Joan of Williamsburg, VA, sister in-law, Dolores Wilkinson of Oxford. Hoyt is also survived by his grandchildren, Casson Raynor, Fox Edwards and Zachary Raynor.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. A private internment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
