FRANKLINTON, NC--Johnnie Lee Goodwin, 69, of Franklinton died December 22, 2022. He was born on January 4, 1953, the son of the late Eddie Lee and Frances Wood Goodwin. In addition to his parents, Johnnie was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Shelby Tippett Goodwin; and his brothers, Michael Delrow Goodwin, William Stanley Goodwin, and Marty Goodwin.

Johnnie is survived by his son, Bernie Goodwin (Melody); his daughter Sherry Barham (Chris); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Eddie Goodwin.

A celebration of Johnnie's life was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 26, at New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy, 14 Fairlane Ave. Franklinton, NC, with Pastors Roy Stallings and Spencer Strickland officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service in the church's fellowship hall.
