Autryville, NC--Derrick Dwight Jackson, 43, of Autryville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1980, in Wake County, NC.

Derrick is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Verne Sr. and Dorothy Jackson; maternal grandparents, Buck and Helen Carter; and one granddaughter.

Survivors: his mother Rebecca Light (Buddy); his father Verne Jackson Jr. (Linda); his daughter, Kayla Jackson; soon to be grandchild; three sisters, Tonya Creech (Johnnie), Lisa Lofton (Jeff) and Jamie Evans (Ozzie); many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 27, at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC. The family will receive visitors and friends immediately following the service. The family is requesting that everyone wear casual attire.

Memorial contributions towards Derrick's final expenses would be greatly appreciated.
