EDNA "TEDDIE" COYNE
August 1, 1923 - August 28, 2023

"Teddie" Coyne, 100, of Raleigh, lost her long battle with dementia Monday morning, August 28, 2023, at Tower Nursing and Rehab.

Edna was born in Florence, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Marie Craney Wilson. After joining the Secretarial pool for the US Navy during WWII, she returned to Chicago and enjoyed raising her family. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio, and she was happy returning to work, first as a real estate agent, then returned to her roots as an executive assistant for Ashland Chemicals and Riverside Memorial Hospital. Upon retiring in 1989 she moved to Raleigh to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Wilson; son-in-law, John Poucher II; and great-grandson Tyler Poucher.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 - 8:30 on Thursday evening in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory.

Teddie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jackie Coyne; daughter Cherie Poucher; grandchildren Mark Poucher (Cheryl) and John Poucher III; and great-grandchildren Hayden, Steven, Jay, and Ami.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wake County SPCA at 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
