WILLIAM L. "BILL" HIGHT
October 20, 1947 - March 29, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC -- William Lawrence "Bill" Hight, 76, of Louisburg, passed away on Friday, March 29, surrounded by those who loved him at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh following a brief illness.

Bill was fun, loving, and very witty. He adored his family, his dogs Duke and Remi, and spending time at the family beach home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Priscilla West Hight; brother, Fred C. Hight, Jr.; brother-in-law, Tom Copley; and sister-in-law, Nelda.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life was held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Laura Evans Hight; twin brother, Phil Hight (Diane); sister, Patricia Copley; sister-in-law, Lou Hight; brother-in-law, Don Evans (Cheryl); children, Suzanna (Scott), Ryan, Jason (Stacey), Me-gan, and Madison; all who knew him as "Papa Bull", Ethan, Jacob, Braelyn, Avery, and Finleigh; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
