Edna Murphy Knight
October 10, 1954 - April 11, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC --Mrs. Edna Murphy Knight, 69, of Louisburg passed away peacefully at her home on April 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 10, 1954 to the late Paul "PB" Murphy Jr. and Beulah Wood Murphy in Franklin County, NC.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Gupton; three sisters, Betty May, Judy Ritch, and Joyce Bailey and her brother Elmas Murphy.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Knight; her daughter, Mandy Evans (Chad); two step-children, Catherine Knight and Justin Knight (Alexa); three grandchildren, Ashley Joyner, Cody Evans (Katie Zinn), and Dawson Evans; three step-grandchildren, Jordan Bunn, Annie Knight and Claire Bear Knight; one great grandchild, Aiden Joyner; one sister, Lorrie Perry (Larry); and two brothers, Tommy and Ronnie Murphy.

Edna retired from DHHS after 27 years of service. She was a member of White Level Community Holiness Church. Edna enjoyed going to the beach and especially her Thanksgiving beach trip with Cindy Pearce. She was married to her husband Michael for 28 years and loved her family dearly. She was an incredible wife, mother, stepmother, and grandma. She will be missed tremendously by her friends and family.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 NC-561 in Louisburg, and was officiated by Pastor Dale Eatmon.
