IRIS C. HILL
April 30, 1938 - December 26, 2024
Iris Chamblee Hill

LOUISBURG, NC--Iris Chamblee Hill, 86, of Louisburg, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Jo Anne Lester; sisters, Eleanor Arnold and Judy Medlin; brother, Harold Chamblee; grandchildren, Brittany Lester, Anya Lester, Alea Lester and Bryant Lester; and her great-granddaughter, Bailey Lester. She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Sherrill Lester and T. Hill; daughter, Sherrie Lynn Lester; sisters, Evelyn Price, Ida Susan Gerould and Corinna Mae Chamblee; brothers, E.G. Chamblee, Julius Chamblee and Alex Donald Chamblee.
Iris was a kind, fun-loving woman who enjoyed many hobbies during her lifetime. However, her greatest passion was her family. She devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. Her goal was to ensure they were taken care of no matter the cost - and she excelled at it. If she wasn't driving them to and from practices and games, she was playing kickball or badminton with them in the backyard after school. She adored them. Iris also prioritized her relationships with her brothers and sisters. They remained close over the course of her life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 31 at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery in Louisburg. The family will receive friends 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at her home.
In lieu of contributions or flowers the family request a tree be planted in her memory.
Arrangements by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
