1.Bunn High teacher allegedly took indecent liberties with a student
BUNN -- Franklin County sheriff's deputies arrested a Bunn High teacher on charges of inappropriate activity with a student.According to a school system spokesperson, on May 15, school staff was made aware of a text communication between Zachary Michael Reynolds and a student.The school system notified its human resources department, which immediately suspended Reynolds with pay.School staff said they then notified law enforcement of the allegations.

20.Police arrest accessory to murder-suicide
Police arrested a Louisburg man they allege had a role in a murder-suicide. Investigators on Tuesday afternoon charged Ryan Reynolds, 21, with accessory before the fact and aiding and abetting a felonious breaking and entering. According to Louisburg Police Chief Rick Lassiter, Reynolds had gone to an apartment in Franklin Court Apartments the morning of Dec. 14 with the intent of helping Gregory Hicks get inside.

A Franklin County man who was convicted of trying to kill his estranged girlfriend is now suing the woman, claiming more than $20,000 worth of his personal items are missing and she’s responsible.In July, Superior Court Judge James E. Hardin Jr. sentenced Otto Gary Normand to between 125 months and 159 months in jail after the 59-year-old pled guilty to attempted first degree murder.

A Youngsville man was transported to a mental health facility after trying to set his girlfriend on fire on Saturday night. According to deputies, Gary Norman was not successful in his attempt to injure Chloe Reynolds, but he did set fire to their 20 Deerfield Court residence. 31.Mother says son’s death was no accident
The mother of a pedestrian killed in August said it was a murder plot that led him to wander along U.S. 401 and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. According to a report by Trooper T.L. Hunt, Ronald Tyrone Kearney, 34, was walking in the roadway of the two-lane highway at about 3 a.m. when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle — a sport utility vehicle driven by an EMS worker responding to a car fire call.

Zachary Mitchell Poole reported on March 26 that suspects pulled up in two vehicles and one suspect got out and fired at least seven rounds, one hitting him in the ankle. The 21-year-old was  taken to Franklin Regional Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

ZEBULON -- Deputies arrested a Franklin County man on kidnapping and assault charges.Deputies responded the evening of Nov. 3 to a home in the 1100 block of Sagamore Drive in Lake Royale after a woman there reported an assault.According to authorities, the woman alleges Zachary Wade Smith wouldn't let her leave the house, grabbed her by her hair, forced her on the couch and grabbed her by the neck.

LOUISBURG -- A Hollister man is awaiting a court date after leading authorities on a two-county chase after he assaulted a bail bondsman.Jorge Perez, 29, was charged with a litany of crimes, including going armed to the terror of the public and felony speeding to elude arrest and assault.According to Louisburg Police Chief Travis Lincoln and court documents, bail bondsman Terrence Reynolds had gone to the Taco Bell/KFC on Bickett Boulevard to apprehend Perez the afternoon of March 26.

The town puts on the county’s only evening parade, giving residents an opportunity to see floats under a cloak of darkness. 100.Ncdot to hold citizens’ workshop on road widening
The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a citizens’ informational workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 4, for the proposed widening of U.S. 401/N.C. 39 in Louisburg. The workshop will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. in the Louisburg High School cafeteria, 201 Allen Lane. Citizens are invited to drop in and speak individually with NCDOT officials, as well as review the project area map, in an informal setting. There will not be a formal presentation. Comments and suggestions received by NCDOT during the workshop will be considered as the project plans are refined.
