Man pawns mother’s TV reported as stolen
FRANKLINTON — Police arrested a man accused of trying to make a quick buck — off his mother.
On Dec. 14, Charles Layton reported that someone stole a television set from his mother’s Layton Street home.
The report also indicated about $100 in damage to a back door frame.

Unemployment rate rises slightly in county
Franklin County’s unemployment rate remained under double digits, but it was one of 26 counties that continues to see an uptick in the number of those looking for work.
Through August and September, Franklin County’s unemployment rate was at 10 percent before falling to 9.7 percent in October.

News flash: A record 84 percent of Americans say they disapprove of the way the Congress is doing its job compared with just 13 percent who approve of how things are going, according to a Washington Post/ABC News public opinion poll published Monday.

I was reading a story last week about pet peeves in the workplace that can set folks off.
It was meant to be humorous, for the most part.
The most egregious problems were people popping popcorn in the office — it apparently tastes great, but no one wants their office smelling like the snack.
