J. LEO BENNETT
October 31, 1932 - January 26, 2016

LOUISBURG - James Leo Bennett, 83, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning at his home.

Leo was a son of the late James Edwin and Sophie Strickland Bennett. He was preceded in death by his son, Kirby Bennett; sister, Nell B. Boone. He was a member of Hill King U.M.C. and retired from the National Guard.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Hill King United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara D. Bennett; daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and David Boykin; sons and daughters-in-law, Leo and Colleen Bennett, all of Louisburg; Kim and Tammy Bennett; grandchildren, Cody, Cameron and Zachary Bennett, all of Raleigh; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Judy Bennett of Louisburg; Charlie and Peggy Bennett of Zebulon; Dan Bennett of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hill King U.M.C., 1989 NC 39 Hwy. S., Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
