RONALD ALAN PHELPS

TAYLORS, SC - Ron Phelps, 76, Servant of the Lord and husband of Alicia Kelly Phelps, joined his Heavenly Father, October 25, 2016, following a battle with leukemia.

Born August 19, 1940, in Louisburg, NC to the late Walter S. and Virginia Hayes Phelps. Surviving him is his wife of 53 years and his daughters, Janine Turner and husband, Chris of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Regina Sorrell and husband, Guy of Holly Springs, NC. Also, his grandchildren Erin and Kyle Turner and Breanna, Makenzie and Riley Sorrell. Also surviving is his brother, Jim Phelps and wife, Yvonne of California.

He graduated NC State with a BSIE and worked for GE 13 years, later becoming self-employed in personnel consulting for 25 years. He was active in Toastmasters and volunteer commitments at Taylors Free Medical Clinic, Three Rivers Baptist Association, N. Greenville University, Taylors First Baptist (Unemployment Ministries, teacher, XYZ and Deacon).

Visitation will be 12:45 - 2:45, Saturday, Oct 29, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 at Taylors First Baptist. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the NGU Christian Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1892, Tigerville, SC 29688 or TFBC Missions Trip Scholarships, 200 W Main St., Taylors, SC 29687.
