Palziv in hiring phase, begins manufacturing
Topics ranging from an update on the area’s newest industry, to wrapping up a long-running utility project, to honoring a former member and even hearing complaints about its police department (see related story), the Louisburg town council had an eventful session Monday night.
A good portion of the meeting centered around Palziv, the area’s newest industry, when its CEO, Greg Brooker, brought the council an update on his company.

Domestic violence and county’s health care needs require our attention
When we paused a moment after putting together last Saturday’s edition, we were struck by the two very different pictures of our community that were represented in one edition.

No more closed sessions under the Christmas tree
No more closed sessions under the Christmas tree

The first thing I hope Santa Claus will bring is the end to all of these closed sessions.

We constantly tweak our current systems, largely creations of the 19th and 20th centuries, putting new wine into old wineskins, so to speak but today’s circumstances require new, out-of-the-box thinking.
