For several thousand Franklin County young people, today is (or was!) a very big day.
As every parent knows — and almost every student dreaded — today marked the unofficial end of summer and the beginning of a new school year.
Hopefully, the year got off to a smooth, safe start. If it didn’t, you’ll be reading about it soon enough but lets hope that there were no serious problems as the 2010-11 school year began.

Momma Jean is doing fine at WakeMed thanks to care from the staff at FRMC

(mostly from “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”), I must say I am ‘very impressed’ with her recent ‘return to relevance’, as I’m sure it’s referred to in ‘TV-land’.  Ordinarily, I would be one of the last to give kudos to television celebrities, but I have to give a big one to Ms. White!
