A Louisburg man has been charged with solicitation to kill his wife, following a history of domestic abuse. Lt. Tim Strickland of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department arrested Robert Buck, 81, of 55 Harvest Lane, around 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Drug arrests net cocaine, marijuana
Agents within the county’s Multi-Agency Narcotics Unit arrested two Hispanic men last week on charges of drug trafficking.
According to a report by Sgt. W.L. Mitchell, agents with M.A.N.U., which includes officers from all of the county’s law enforcement departments, set up a traffic stop along U.S. 1 North near Youngsville on May 9.

Buzzy Sturges, C.L. Gobble take two
Family, friends and colleagues gathered Monday at a retirement reception for two public servants who committed more than a quarter-century of service to Louisburg.
C.L. Gobble and Buzzy Sturges both came to work for the town in 1981 and both retired on April 1 from their posts as town administrator and town attorney, respectively. “They’ve both meant a lot to this town,” said state Rep. Lucy Allen, who served as Louisburg’s mayor during a good chunk of their careers.
