JAMES E. DAVIS
YOUNGSVILLE —James Ennis “Jay” Davis Jr., 82, died at his home on Saturday morning, Aug. 28, 2010. Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 30, at Good Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Gray, the Rev. Paul Pinson and the Rev. David Buffaloe officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Youngsville and graduated from Oxford High School. He also attended NC State University majoring in Agriculture Education. After college, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He had a lifelong love of farming and was also a real estate developer until his death.

Surviving: wife, Mildred Powell Davis; three nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters and his brother.
