MARTHA S. VAUGHAN
May 16, 1934 – October 13, 2012
LOUISBURG – Martha Stone Vaughan, 78, of Louisburg, died Saturday evening at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Martha was a daughter of the late Charlie Fisher and Sallie Frances Hayes Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Vaughan; sisters, Rachel Taylor and Alma Gaskill; brother, Ransom Stone. Martha was an active member of Louisburg Baptist Church.

Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Louisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Martha is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kelly Vaughan of Louisburg; grandsons, Ryan Vaughan and his wife Jessica of Wake Forest; Trevor Vaughan of Louisburg; sisters, Gertie Ayscue, Sadie Burnette and Nellie Freeman, all of Louisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Raymond and Rachel Stone of Kittrell, Dr. Paul and Eupearl Stone of Fuquay-Varina, Jack Stone of Louisburg; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, Philathea Sunday School Class, Neighbors Fund, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family received friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
