J. THURMAN MURRAY
ZEBULON - J. Thurman Murray, 90, died Thursday night, April 13, 2006. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 16, at Zebulon Baptist Church.

Entombment followed in the Zebulon Town Cemetery.

He was born in Nash County, the son of the late Annie Bryant and Jesse Allison Murray. Mr. Murray was former owner of Zebulon Furniture Co. and was a retired employee of Whitley Galleries. He was a World War II veteran.

Surviving: his wife, Elizabeth Ferrell Murray; daughter, Pat Jenkins (Robert) of Zebulon; sisters, Annie Belle Upchurch of Raleigh and Marie Woodard of Texas; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney A., J. Alvin and J. D. Murray; and sister, Daisy Pearce. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Zebulon Baptist Church, Courtyard Fund, P.O. Box 366, Zebulon, NC 27597.

Arrangements handled by Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell.
